At the end of our third year, students at IIAD are required to delve into a year-end pathway project that favours our interests and skills. To give this course a structure we followed UN Sustainable Development Goals as an umbrella for our narrowed down design problems.
I worked towards SDG 11 : Sustainable Cities and Communities with a highlight in understanding how communities respond to emergency situations like pandemics and natural disasters. Such events prompt a lot of panic driven movement across spaces (cities).
While identifying spaces that would naturally host an influx of migrating bodies, an interstate bus terminal seemed to be an obvious candidate (later validated through primary research).

The project gradually took shape by recognizing certain informal professions that people would engage in at the Interstate Bus Terminals - these gig workers have no guarantee in any sense of tenure, security or protection from exploitation.
I worked towards understanding who these people were, where they were from, how they got into these professions and general practices that they had accepted as a way-of-life.
